Alex's practice focuses on labor and employment law at the administrative hearing, trial, and appellate levels. He also provides advice and representation to employers regarding a broad variety of labor matters, including disciplinary and personnel matters, charges of discrimination, unemployment compensation and FLSA claims. He also has extensive experience in government law and code enforcement issues. He advises and represents governments, their boards and special magistrates and defends respondents in code enforcement matters.  He handles administrative hearings and court and appellate proceedings relating to the interpretation and enforcement of building, fire, municipal, county and unsafe structure codes and any related code enforcement and municipal assessment liens. His practice includes the prosecution and defense of municipal lien foreclosures and code enforcement injunction actions.

He also has an extensive background in landlord/tenant and subsidized housing law and has represented program participants and public housing authorities in Section 8 and Public Housing administrative hearings and related litigation. He currently serves as the Section 8 and Housing Opportunities for People with Aids (HOPWA) Administrative Hearing Officer for the City of Miami.
