Mr. Behar is a Partner of the Firm and serves as Chair of the Firm’s General Liability Group. He primarily concentrates on the defense of insurance carriers and their insureds in the areas of General Liability, Auto, Employment Practices Liability, Errors & Omissions, Directors & Officers Liability and Bodily Injury claims. Mr. Behar is experienced in handling professional liability claims, construction defects, nursing home claims, real estate and title agent liability, premises liability (including personal injuries, slip and falls, wrongful death, injuries caused by code violations and injuries caused by toxic or dangerous substances).
Mr. Behar’s practice also includes representing clients in matters concerning complex commercial litigation, class actions, contract and business disputes, personnel investigations and litigation avoidance techniques. He has represented clients in negotiating franchise agreements; buy-sell agreements and financing matters; several international reinsurance brokers in contractual disputes and unfair competition matters; international marketing and advertising firms; and several public entities, including universities and school boards. Mr. Behar also completed intensive training and received authorization by the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to conduct EEO investigations, pursuant to the Federal Standards set forth in the EEOC, EEO Management Directive 110, Chapter 6. These investigative techniques and methodologies comply with all Federal guidelines that define discrimination claims based on allegations of disparate treatment or impact based on race, color, national origin, sex (pregnancy), age, mental or physical disability, religion and retaliation. Mr. Behar’s practice extends from administrative proceedings to subsequent litigation and any resulting appeals. He regularly lectures to insurance carriers and private clients in employment law issues.
