Ms. Sibila is an Associate with the Firm specializing in land use, zoning, real estate and sustainable development and green building practices. She represents clients in complex matters involving land use, zoning, developmental approvals, comprehensive planning and code enforcement. Ms. Sibila appears before city and county boards throughout South Florida, including the cities of Miami, Miami Beach, Sunny Isles Beach, South Miami, Opa-Locka and Miami-Dade County. Ms. Sibila has been involved in obtaining the necessary development approvals for major high-rise condominium and commercial projects throughout Miami-Dade County.
Ms. Sibila was the first attorney in Miami-Dade County to obtain the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential. LEED APs are distinguished building professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating Systems. She possess an understanding of green building practices, resources, and processes which assists her in counseling public and private clients who either voluntarily or by virtue of local, state or federal requirements seek to design, construct or renovate utilizing green or sustainable building practices. She assists development clients with incorporating sustainable development elements into their projects and also serves as legal counsel to various municipalities and specialty groups working to promote green building practices.
Ms. Sibila obtained a Master of Laws degree in real estate development and finance from the University of Miami School of Law. During her law school career, Ms. Sibila served in various leadership roles such as the University of Miami Representative to the American Bar Association, the Vice-President of Miami Law Women, and the Treasurer of the Honor Society of Bar & Gavel. In addition, Ms. Sibila helped establish the University of Miami School of Law Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program which received national recognition from both Equal Justice Works and the American Bar Association for assisting low-income residents of the City of Miami in tax preparation. Ms. Sibila worked as a certified legal intern at the Legal Aid Society of Miami-Dade County and, while obtaining her Master of Laws degree, as a certified legal intern in the Land Use and Zoning Division of the City of Miami Office of the City Attorney.
