Mr. Shamres is an Associate with the Firm specializing in general local government representation. He presently provides services primarily to the City of Miramar in Broward County, Florida. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of local government law subjects, having served as Assistant County Attorney for Broward County for five years and as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Pompano Beach for two years. He has also interfaced with local governments throughout South Florida while representing private clients in land use and zoning related matters, including the obtaining of numerous local government approvals for the siting of telecommunication facilities. Mr. Shamres has also served as an Assistant State Attorney in Broward County for five years and assisted with the representation of the Broward County Resource Recovery Board, which oversees the solid waste disposal system for Broward County, for approximately two years. He is a member of the Florida Bar since 1972 and participates in the Florida Bar’s Local Government Law Section. He is a frequent participant in the events of the Broward League of Cities.
Mr. Shamres has strong community ties having been a resident of South Florida for over 50 years and having represented a wide variety of both public and private clients primarily in Broward County for over 30 years.
