Since 2012, Lindsey Ryder has focused her practice on labor and employment law within the public sector—she represents management in municipal government agencies in the South Florida area.

Lindsey helps employers resolve employment disputes by conducting in-house investigations in response to discrimination complaints filed by employees.  She also responds to and mediates charges of discrimination filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Florida Civil Rights Act.

Lindsey’s experience includes advising clients with issues related to employee hiring practices, counseling, discipline and termination, as well as maintaining compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding employment discrimination and employee rights and benefits, such as Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and regulations promulgated under the ADA and ADEA. Lindsey also drafts and reviews employment policies, employee handbooks, and employment contracts, creates employee training videos and materials and conducts training seminars related to employment discrimination and other labor topics.

Lindsey also represents clients in collective bargaining negotiations, administrative grievance hearings before the Public Employee Relations Commission, and in arbitration grievance hearings.

Inspired to pursue a legal career by her father, who is also a lawyer, Lindsey began her practice at the Law Offices of Paul T. Ryder, Jr., P.A. before joining Weiss Serota.
