Broward Office Managing Director Jamie Cole Discusses Florida Firearm Litigation on NBC6, WLRN

Jamie Cole, Managing Director of the firm’s Broward office, appeared on NBC 6 and WLRN to discuss updates on pending litigation challenging certain Florida firearms legislation. The State of Florida is appealing a judge’s ruling that its NRA-sponsored law allowing fines against individual elected officials and giving the governor authority to remove officials from office for attempting to enact local gun legislation is unconstitutional. City of Weston commissioners have since voted to file a brief with the Florida Supreme Court to support a proposed constitutional amendment question on the November 2020 ballot that would ban assault weapons. Cole, who was lead attorney in the case, represented 30 local governments in Florida and more than 50 elected officials.
