WSHC+B is pleased to announce that our client, the City of Delray Beach, prevailed in the lawsuit brought by former city manager Mark Lauzier (Lauzier v. City of Delray Beach, Case no. 502019CA005557XXXXMB, Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit).

After a six-day jury trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of Delray on all counts of the breach of contract case filed by its former manager.

Lauzier claimed that the City lacked good cause to terminate his employment agreement and that he was entitled to severance pay, benefits and attorneys’ fees. WSHC+B’s labor and employment practice leader Brett Schneider handled the case with colleagues Porpoise Evans, Marice Guzman and Elen Gantner, as well as former partner Brooke Ehrlich.
