Amelia N. Jadoo is Of Counsel in the firm’s Government Division and has 18 years of experience in business and government practice. She primarily advises and counsels government entities and organizations on a variety of issues relating to Sunshine laws, Public Records Act, ethics, code enforcement, contracts, land use, zoning, landlord/tenant, among others. Amelia also advises and represents private clients to resolve contract disputes, prepare demand letters, and engage in settlement negotiations. Amelia is an effective problem-solver who is passionate about approaching her client's needs in an ethical, efficient and collaborative manner. As a former litigator, she effectively counsels her clients to avoid and mitigate litigation risks and works closely with her clients to navigate emerging legal issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Amelia was Assistant County Attorney for Dakota County in Minnesota, where she advised the County and its various departments and public officials on a wide variety of legal issues related to data privacy, cybersecurity, corrections, employment, eminent domain/condemnation, collections, contracts, risk management, law enforcement, jails, firearms, juveniles, among others. Amelia served as Chair of the County Attorney’s Office’s diversity, inclusion, and equity committee, and served as a member of the Dakota County’s Diversity Leadership Team.

Prior to her work for Dakota County, Amelia was an associate in the business litigation division of a large Minnesota law firm. Amelia also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Justice Sam Hanson on the Minnesota Supreme Court.

Active in the Palm Beach County community also, Amelia is Chair of Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Committee for Diversity & Inclusion’s Firm Outreach Subcommittee. She is a high school mentor for the Palm Beach County Path to College, a nonprofit program that mentors low-income, high-achieving students to help them be more competitive, get better scholarships, and incur less debt when applying to college. Amelia is an adjunct professor at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and teaches a variety of classes, including Contracts, Civil Dispute Resolution, and Foundations of Practice.
