It’s a sporting town

Florida Sports fans have much to cheer about, as the Miami Heat easily won – no, not the NBA Championship – but approval of a new subsidy arrangement.   The Dolphins are now in negotiation for a deal as well.  This one would depend on big game attractions such as the Super Bowl or the World Cup.

From years past, when South Florida hosted the Super Bowl or the Marlins made it to the World Series, South Florida benefits in numerous ways, from the tourism and commerce to the tremendous visibility.

Sports are big business in Florida.  Partner Alan Fertel understands sports and entertainment law and the NFL knows it.  He was featured on the NFL League Security Video shown to every NFL player as counsel on how to avoid the problems of being a celebrity athlete.

Understanding the business of sports is more than just watching – it’s taking a leadership role.  Alan is the Vice-Chair and a member of the Board of Directors of the Miami Dade Sports Commission.

As the Dolphins move to a new season, and potentially, a new roof you’ll see a lot of news.
