Supporting the Kozyak Minority Mentoring Picnic

The Kozyak Minority Mentoring Picnic is the premier annual event from the Kozyak Minority Mentoring Foundation.  The mission of this Foundation is to provide assistance and support to minorities interested in pursuing legal careers, mentoring programs, networking opportunities and limited financial aid.  The Foundation takes primary responsibility for finding experienced lawyers and judges to mentor black law students at every law school in Florida and working with other voluntary bar association to find mentors for all minatory law students.

Weiss Serota Helfman Cole Bierman & Popok is a proud supporter of this wonderful organization.   Several attorneys including John Quick, Alison Smith, Laura Wendell and Aleida Martinez Molina are actively involved – and joined in on the family fun for the annual picnic.  From the exciting volleyball tournament to rock climbing walls, from ring toss to face painting, the picnic is filled with smiles and friendships.

In attendance were numerous judges, both established lawyers and attorneys just beginning their careers, as well as law students from across the state.     The picnic is held every November at Amelia Earhart Park located in Miami.  Every student, lawyer and judge who attends the picnic has the opportunity to get a mentor or mentee.

No small feat – the Kozyak Minority Mentoring picnic attracts 2000 attendees!
