Matt Ramenda is a seasoned litigator and municipal attorney whose legal career spans over 20 years representing municipalities and private clients in state and federal courts.
His representation of municipal clients has included a wide array of litigation involving claims for false arrest, excessive force, constitutional challenges, malicious prosecution, public records request violations, zoning and land use disputes, personal injury lawsuits, appeals, code enforcement matters, landlord/tenant disputes, and foreclosure actions.
In addition, Matt has experience providing general representation to municipalities throughout Palm Beach County and Broward County, including the Town of Palm Beach, the Town of Jupiter, the Town of Lake Park, the City of Deerfield Beach, the City of Parkland, and the City of Weston. This experience includes representing municipalities at town council meetings, code enforcement hearings, quasi-judicial proceedings, special magistrate hearings, appeals of administrative proceedings to the Circuit Court, municipal prosecutions, and in drafting municipal ordinances and resolutions.
With respect to the private sector, Matt represents individuals and corporate entities in complex commercial litigation, business law torts, commercial landlord/tenant disputes, housing discrimination claims involving violations of the United States Fair Housing Act and the Palm Beach County Code of Ordinances, and trademark disputes with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and appeals before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Matt was an elected member of The Florida Bar Board of Governors Young Lawyers Division for nine years, where he chaired and moderated the “Practicing with Professionalism” course for first-year lawyers in West Palm Beach.
