Construction Claims and Defense

Litigation Division

Our tenacious litigators focus on the needs of municipalities, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and other members of the construction industry at every step in the litigation process. Led by a chair who is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar, our construction lawyers have helped clients, both in the public and private sector, navigate the many challenges they face. When disputes arise, whether during planning and development, the bidding process, contracting, or construction, we are focused on quickly addressing and resolving potential issues to minimize or avoid timely and costly interruptions in closing out the project.

We have successfully litigated or arbitrated complex construction law issues and claims including, but not limited to, design defects, construction defects, latent defects, Chapter 558 construction defects, building code violations, condominium turnovers, project delays, acceleration claims, construction insurance, change orders, contract performance deficiencies, breaches of contract, contract terminations, payment disputes, liens, fraudulent liens, and payment and performance bonds.

The results that we obtain speak volumes to our skill and our commitment to advocate zealously for our clients.  Over the years, we have successfully litigated and negotiated settlements in construction related cases, resulting in payments to our clients in excess of $50 million.

Our Insight

Spending a relatively small amount of money early on to draft and negotiate a solid contract can avoid years of protracted and expensive litigation.
