Richard Rosengarten focuses his practice on municipal and commercial appeals and litigation. He represents local governments in commercial disputes, land use, law enforcement, discrimination and torts. His civil litigation practice also includes private sector contract disputes, complex civil litigation, construction law and real property matters.
Richard began his legal career at an AmLaw 100 firm and then served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable James Lawrence King of the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. During law school, Richard was editor-in-chief of the University of Miami Law Review and taught property law to first-year students as a Dean’s Fellow. He attended the Duke-Geneva Transnational Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, which included a course on the separation of powers taught by former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
Writing and publishing has always been a passion of Richard’s. Before law school, he served as editor-in-chief of The Original magazine, an award-winning publication covering arts and culture in Pittsburgh, PA.
