As a founding member of the firm, Steve Helfman has helped to build and grow Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman into a leading Florida firm for government and business clients. A trusted advisor to local government clients, Steve focuses on real estate, zoning, growth management, subdivision law and land development. He serves as municipal attorney to the Village of Key Biscayne, the Towns of Golden Beach and Medley, and Indian Creek Village. Steve also represents both public and private clients in the real estate development industry.

Steve has extensive experience with Florida’s Growth Management Act and has been involved in the preparation of local government comprehensive plans and the adoption of municipal ordinances, including land development regulations, implementing those plans. Steve has served as a member of the City of Coral Gables Planning and Zoning Board and has been a guest lecturer to the City of Miami Planning Advisory Board and the City of Miami Zoning Board on issues of growth management.
