Josh is Chair of our Community Association, Club & Resort Practice Group. His practice includes serving as outside general counsel to community associations, including condominium associations, hotel-condominium associations, homeowners’ associations, cooperatives and timeshares, as well as equity clubs and privately held hotels and resorts. Additionally, Josh is an experienced transactional real estate attorney whose experience includes the representation of residential real estate developers, creating condominium and homeowners’ associations for their projects, and the representation of the developers with respect to the acquisition, financing, leasing and sale of their properties. Josh is also active in the charter school industry, representing a national charter school company with respect to their purchase, sale and leasing transactions throughout the State.

Significant aspects of Josh's law practice include the following:

  • Acting as outside general counsel to condominium and homeowners associations containing over 10,000 units with respect to day-to-day corporate governance issues including, without limitation, compliance with Chapters 718 and 720, Florida Statutes.
  • Coordinating aggressive and innovative collections efforts on behalf of condominium and homeowners associations, resulting in substantial decreases in the accounts receivables of those associations.
  • Successful representation of condominium and homeowners associations with respect to transition of control from the developers to owners.
  • Representation of hotel-condominiums with respect to the creation and restructuring of the hotel unit rental programs.
  • Acting as outside general counsel to hotel operators and management companies with respect to day-to-day leasing, operational and contractual issues.
  • Representation of residential developer with respect to acquisition, financing, construction and creation of condominium for several Miami Beach, Florida projects valued in excess of $300 million.
  • Representation of national developer with respect to acquisition and financing of $150 million oceanfront, residential high rise condominium.
  • Representation of national pension fund with respect to acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties throughout the United States.
  • Representation of international hotel chain with respect to its acquisitions and dispositions throughout the United States, the Caribbean and South America.
  • Representation of national charter school company with respect to acquisition, construction, financing and leasing of school facilities throughout the State of Florida.
