WSHC+B partner and chair of the firm’s Sport, Arts and Entertainment Practice Group, Alan K. Fertel, recently spoke to the South Florida Business Journal to discuss the laws surrounding Florida’s NIL Statute and potential concerns with enforcing compliance of both the student-athletes and their high-profile sponsors.

“This is the wild, wild west right now,” Alan told SFBJ, “Since this is brand new and there are no legal cases on it that say exactly what you can do, we only have the written statute.”

Alan is an experienced litigator, focusing his practice on high-value endorsement deals and sponsorship contracts for top athletes and coaches, including American Olympic champions Caeleb Dressel and Bobby Finke, as well as Dressel’s coach Greg Troy.
