Weiss Serota Helfman Cole Bierman & Popok continues to attract top talent and experienced attorneys.   The firm recently announced the addition of Paul R. Gougelman and Eric L. Stettin as a partners, both in the firm’s Broward office.

Paul joins as a senior member of the firm’s Municipal Government Law division.  He is the current Town Attorney for the Town of Indialantic, and the former City Attorney for the City of Melbourne and the City of Cocoa Beach.  He also served as Town Attorney for the Town of Melbourne Beach.  

His deep experience includes serving as special counsel to the cities of Maitland, Longwood, and Lake Mary, as well as a hearing officer for Orange County.   He is currently General Counsel for the Space Coast League of Cities.   Paul has a particularly strong background in transportation planning law.  He has been General Counsel for the Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council, the statewide governmental agency consisting of 27 Metropolitan Planning Organizations, for over twenty years.  He also has served as General Counsel for the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization for over twenty years.

Eric Stettin is a senior member of the firm’s Litigation Division.  With more than 25 years of representing public and private entities, Eric brings a wealth of experience and success.  His primary specialization is the defense of personal injury, policy liability workers compensation on behalf of municipalities and insurance companies. 

Over his career, Eric has also developed expertise in insurance coverage disputes representing both insureds and insurance companies.   Eric was born and raised in South Florida and has many ties to the community.  He is active in professional organizations and civic affairs and is a long time Rotarian in the Weston Chapter.
